- The portable over-ear headphones ATH-WP900 have maple cups for high-fidelity listening on the move and for a beautiful aesthetic. Maple is a stiff, dense wood, often used to make stringed instruments such as guitars and violins. Here, a thin layer of "flame-grain" maple placed on top of a piece of processed maple was used to provide enclosures that ensure a clear and natural audio quality.
- The finish offered by the Japanese guitar manufacturer Fjigen brings a unique veneer to each enclosure. The headphones are equipped with exclusive 53mm drivers with a powerful magnetic circuit, have a DLC layer (diamond-like carbon), and a PCB construction for a full-range audio reproduction. A special deflector improves airflow from the front and rear of the diaphragm for superior audio reproduction on the low and mids, and optimally positions the cups over the ear for increased comfort and superior sound. The headphones also feature A2DC (Audio Designed Detachable Coaxial) plugs for a secure connection of the two included detachable cables. One cable has a 3.5mm plug for use with smartphones and standard audio devices. The other cable is equipped with a 4.4mm plug for use with high-resolution digital audio players and balanced connection headphone amplifiers. The earpads and headband of the ATH-WP900 headphones are made of soft synthetic leather for long-lasting comfort, and the cups fold up for easy transport in the supplied pouch.
