      Kanto Audio — Floor speaker stands

      Speakers at the right height, turned toward you

      SP32PL is a pair of 81.3 cm steel floor stands with top plates that swivel left or right, 1/4"-20 mounting for compatible speakers and cables hidden inside the column.

      On furniture, bookshelf speakers usually sit too low and fire past the listener. The SP Series raises them on a slim steel column and lets you aim each one at the listening position. Kanto offers it in 26 and 32 inch heights; SP32PL is the 32″ version, 81.3 cm tall.

      Kanto describes the SP as a low-profile stand for midsize and large speakers, built from solid steel with a powder-coated finish and rated for speakers up to 13.6 kg per stand.

      Aim, fix and hide the cables

      Each top plate swivels to the left or right, so the speakers can face the listening position. Speakers with a standard threaded insert can be screwed to the plate with the supplied 1/4"-20 screws; the others simply sit on it. Power cables and speaker wire run through the hollow steel column, and interchangeable spikes or domed rubber feet suit carpet or hard floors.

      SP32PL dimensions

      Each pair comes with two top plate sizes: a narrow 11 x 18 cm plate and a square 17.8 x 17.8 cm plate for larger cabinets; the manual presents the large plate as an optional change for large speakers. The base measures 22.5 x 26.8 cm. Kanto gives a product weight of 16.3 kg for SP32PL.

      Frequently asked questions

      Are they sold as a pair?

      Yes. Kanto sells the SP Series as a pair: the box holds two stands, four top plates and two 1/4"-20 screws.

      Does my speaker need a threaded insert?

      No. The 1/4"-20 screw is optional and only for speakers with a standard threaded mount; other speakers sit directly on the top plate.

      Which speakers does Kanto suggest?

      On the SP Series page Kanto suggests its YU4, YU6 and REN speakers. Kanto's limit is 13.6 kg per stand, and the speaker's base should suit the 11 x 18 cm or the 17.8 x 17.8 cm plate.

      Which top plate should I use?

      Both sizes are in the box. The manual describes the square 17.8 x 17.8 cm plate as an optional change for large speakers; otherwise the narrow 11 x 18 cm plate stays fitted.
