    A heavier, quieter foundation for larger bookshelf speakers

    SX26 is a pair of 66 cm floor stands with a column you can fill for extra mass, a separate cable channel and levelling adjusted from the top of the base.

    Bookshelf speakers placed on furniture pick up the furniture's vibrations and usually sit lower than the listener's ears. A dedicated stand gives them a place of their own in the room, on a stable base. The SX Series is Kanto's fillable range, in 22, 26 and 30 inch heights; SX26 is the 26″ version, 66 cm tall.

    Kanto designed the SX for larger bookshelf speakers: each stand carries up to 18.1 kg including the fill material, takes one of two top plates and stands on either spikes or domed rubber feet.

    Mass, isolation and tidy cables

    The column has its own fill channel: pour the substrate of your choice into the supplied bags to add mass and reduce unwanted resonance. A second, separate channel carries power cables and speaker wire without touching the fill. Interchangeable spiked and rubber isolation feet decouple the stands from the floor: spikes for carpet, domed feet for wood or concrete.

    SX26 dimensions

    Each stand comes with two top plates: a small one of 13.3 x 16.5 cm and a large one of 16.5 x 23.5 cm, with four corner holes for direct speaker mounting and optional foam pads. Levelling is done from the top of the base with the included tool and checked with the bubble level in the box. The base measures 24.1 x 28.5 cm. Kanto gives a product weight of 20.2 kg for SX26.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are they sold as a pair?

    Yes. Kanto sells the SX Series as a pair: the box holds two stands, four top plates, four foam pads and two bags for the fill material.

    Do I have to fill the column?

    No, filling is optional. If you fill it, the 18.1 kg limit per stand includes the fill material: speaker and fill together must stay below it. For SX26, Kanto gives a fill volume of 0.15 ft³.

    Which speakers suit it?

    Kanto recommends the SX for larger bookshelf speakers and suggests it on the series page alongside its TUK, TUK Grand and REN speakers. What matters is your speaker's base: it should fit the 13.3 x 16.5 cm plate or the 16.5 x 23.5 cm plate and, together with the fill, stay within 18.1 kg.

    Which feet should I use?

    Spikes for carpet and domed rubber feet for wood or concrete, as the manual shows. Both are in the box.
