    Compact bass that blends in

    SUB6 is a sealed powered subwoofer with a 6-inch paper cone woofer and a Class D amplifier of 100 W total RMS. At 22 cm wide, it is sized for a desk, a bookshelf system or a small living room.

    Kanto designed SUB6 for smaller rooms and desks, where a large home cinema subwoofer would dominate the space. It adds controlled bass to music, films and games, and Kanto describes the goal as enhancing the system without overwhelming it.

    The 6-inch paper cone sits in a sealed enclosure and is driven by a Class D amplifier of 100 W total RMS (200 W peak). Kanto rates the response from 40 Hz to 175 Hz.

    Sealed enclosure, tight bass

    A sealed enclosure keeps bass tight and articulate, preserving the rhythm and texture of the music. The cabinet is 22 cm wide and 22 cm deep, so SUB6 fits beneath a desk or beside a media console.

    Controls for blending with your speakers

    The low-pass filter sets the highest frequency the subwoofer plays, adjustable from 40 Hz to 120 Hz, so it hands over to your main speakers where they start to roll off. The phase switch (0° or 180°) helps when the subwoofer sits farther away than the speakers: Kanto recommends listening in both positions and keeping the fuller one.

    Frequently asked questions

    Can I connect it to Kanto powered speakers?

    Yes, through their subwoofer output. If the speakers already apply a low-pass filter to that output, Kanto recommends setting the crossover on Sub6 to 120 Hz.

    My amplifier has only one RCA subwoofer output. Is that enough?

    Yes. A single RCA output can go to either the left or the right input. If your device has both left and right subwoofer or preamp outputs, Kanto recommends using both.

    Does it stay on all the time?

    You choose. The power mode switch has three positions: On keeps it active, Auto powers it on when audio arrives and puts it in standby after several minutes of silence, Off keeps it in standby. Standby consumption is below 0.5 W.

    Where should I place it?

    Placing it close to walls or corners adds bass but can make the sound less clear. Kanto recommends taking time to try a few positions, because the room has a large effect on the result.
